Yes. Freezer burn is caused by air reaching the food surface and dehydrating it. By removing up to 95% of the air from the bag, FreshLock dramatically slows oxidation and ice-crystal formation, keeping meat, fish, vegetables, and leftovers fresh-tasting for months in the freezer instead of weeks.

No — and the difference matters for safety. Vacuum sealing removes air to slow spoilage during refrigerated or frozen storage; it does not make food shelf-stable. Heat canning (water bath for acidic foods, pressure canning for low-acid foods) is the USDA-approved method for room-temperature storage. Never store vacuum-sealed low-acid foods — garlic in oil, raw vegetables, fresh meats — at room temperature. Always refrigerate or freeze vacuum-sealed food.

Yes. Juices from marinated meat, sauces and other wet foods are caught by the detachable transparent drip cup before they can travel toward the pump, and a side drain port with the included tube routes any overflow out of the cup rather than letting it pool inside. Most low-cost handheld pumps have no liquid protection at all, which is why they often fail within months of sealing wet food. For pure liquids such as soup or broth we still recommend freezing the portion until the surface is firm before sealing — not only to protect the unit, but because liquid pulled up against the valve prevents a proper airtight seal.

Yes. FreshLock works with most embossed valve bags that have a standard one-way air valve — you are not locked into our own bags. We recommend 90 μm (or thicker) embossed PA+PE bags with a white circular valve for optimal results. It is not compatible with open-top embossed bags designed for heat-bar edge sealers or chamber machines.

Yes — for both, as long as the lid has a built-in one-way air valve (the same style of valve as FreshLock bags). The FreshLock Pro nozzle needs a valve opening no wider than 33 mm, sitting on a flat sealing surface at least 40 mm across (a bit larger is fine — a smaller flat area won't seal flush and can leak). Set the nozzle over the valve and press the button, same as sealing a bag. It will not work with a standard flat/screw-on lid or container with no valve, regardless of size.

The built-in 1200 mAh Li-ion battery delivers 80–100 seals on a full charge, which is enough for multiple weeks of normal household use. It charges via USB-C (cable included) in about 2.5 hours — you can use any USB-C phone charger, power bank, or laptop port.

The motor runs under 60 dB — about as loud as a library or normal conversation. It only runs for 5–10 seconds per bag, so you won't disturb anyone in the kitchen.

Yes. All FreshLock bags are made from BPA-free, food-safe PA+PE multi-layer film. They are suitable for fridge, freezer, sous-vide (up to 100 °C), and microwave use (open the zipper first before microwaving).

FreshLock Pro comes with a 1-year warranty on the main unit and 6-month warranty on accessories (USB-C cable, starter bags). If anything goes wrong under normal use, contact [email protected] and we'll make it right.
